CHECK-IN TIME:      3:00 PM
GUEST REGISTRATION:  Upon check-in, we require valid photo identification and accurate contact information from our guests including first and last names, street addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and signatures.  The names of all guests occupying the room must be registered. 
PRE-AUTHORIZATION AT CHECK-IN:  A pre-authorization of a credit/debit card is required at check-in.  This is a temporary hold of a specific amount of your available credit limit balance placed on your credit/debit card for the full amount of your intended stay, plus tax.  Your credit card is not valid unless signed.  We will refuse an unsigned card.  Pre-authorization is not a charge to your account, it is a hold on those funds.  Once your actual charge is posted at check-out it can take anywhere from 24 hours to 30 days for the original pre-authorization to be removed by your bank.  Generally, most banks release the hold within three (3) to five (5) days.   It is your responsibility to be aware of how your bank handles your transactions, including pre-authorizations.  We are unable to remove pre-authorizations directly through our Guest House.

SCHEDULE OF CHARGES: The Royal Barracks Guest House will charge guests’ credit cards in this schedule: 

50% of reservation total due at time of booking. 

50% of reservation due 14 days prior to arrival. If reservation is created within 14 days of arrival, guests’ card may be charged twice or all at once. 

Pre-Authorization hold for damage deposits – prior to arrival. These funds will be held from the available balance until check out. This is not a charge but a hold. The hold will be released after check out. 


SPECIAL REQUESTS:  We will make every effort to honor special requests such as a specific room or adjoining rooms upon your arrival.  All special requests are noted on reservations and we will do our best to accommodate them.  However, the availability of these items cannot be guaranteed in advance. 


CHECKS AND CHECK CASHING:  We do not accept checks and we do not provide check cashing services. 


DEBIT CARD/CREDIT CARD HOLDERS:  If you change your method of payment at check-out or change the length of your stay, your bank may not post the changes to your account immediately.  Royal Barracks Guest House has no control over the policies of your bank and will not be held liable for any “insufficient funds” penalties or any other resulting fees or charges.


DEPOSITS AND GUARANTEES:  A major credit card is required at the time of booking to guarantee the room and secure the reservation period.  The amount of 50% deposit required to hold the room.
RESERVATION AND PAYMENT FOR GUESTS BY PRIVATE THIRD PARTIES:  Generally, third party payment is not permitted.  In the case of paying for a family member, if you will not be physically present at the Guest House, we require prior completion and approval of a Credit Card Authorization form, including a copy of your valid driver’s license and the front and back of your signed credit card.  You will be responsible for any and all damages and loss.  We reserve the right to refuse reservation at any time for any reason.


RATES:  All rates are quoted in United States currency, plus tax.  Rates may increase without notice.  Rates as advertised on the Royal Barracks Guest House website or any other website or promotional material are subject to change at any time and may increase or decrease at the Guest House’s sole discretion.  Rates are based on Standard Room (one (1) or two (2) guests) or the Suite (one (1) to four (4) guests) occupancy and are subject to availability.


RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE:  Royal Barracks Guest House is privately owned and operated.  We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason(s) that does not violate Federal or State laws.  Royal Barracks Guest House has a zero tolerance policy in which we will refuse to admit or refuse service or accommodation in our Guest House, or may remove a person, without refund, who refuses to abide by the reasonable standards and policies established by the State of Louisiana and the owners for the operation and management of the Guest House.  Royal Barracks Guest House will refuse service or evict a guest:  (1) for refusal or failure to pay for accommodations; (2) is under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any other intoxicating substance and acts in a disorderly fashion as to disturb the peace of other guests or is not in compliance with Louisiana laws; (3) acts in a disorderly fashion as to disturb the peace of other guests; (4) is unable to properly supervise their children at all times; (5) seeks to use the guesthouse for an unlawful purpose; (6) seeks to bring into the guesthouse an unlawfully possessed firearm; or any item including an explosive, hazardous or toxic substance that is unlawful to possess and that may be dangerous to other persons; (7) destroys, damages, defaces, defrauds or threatens harm to Guest House property or guests; (8) causes or permits persons to exceed the maximum allowable occupancy of room; (9) refuses to abide by the reasonable standards or policies established by Royal Barracks Guest House for the operation and management of our Guest House. 


QUIET HOURS:  Out of respect for our neighbors and all of our guests, quiet hours are from 10:00 P.M. to 9:00 A.M.  If you become aware of a disruptive guest, please contact our Front Desk.  Voices, televisions and other devices must be kept at a respectful low level at all times.  Doors and gates should be opened and closed quietly. 


VISITORS:  No visitors after 10:00 P.M.  Visitors must notify management immediately upon their arrival.  Visitors must be accompanied by the registered guest at all times.  Visitors are not allowed to use guest amenities.  As a registered guest, you are responsible for your visitor at all times. 


CONNECTING ROOM POLICY:  Connecting rooms are subject to availability and can only be booked directly through the Guest House.  Please call the Guest House directly to discuss available configurations.  The following connecting combinations are available: 
  • The Suite – Connecting to the Bunk Room – One (1) queen-sized bed, one (1) daybed with trundle and one (1) set of twin-sized bunk beds. Accommodates six (6) guests with two (2) bathrooms.
  • The Suite – Connecting to the Mardi Gras Room – Two (2) queen-sized beds and one (1) daybed with trundle.  Accommodates six (6) guests with two (2) bathrooms. 
  • The Garden Room – Connecting to the Bunk Room – One (1) queen-sized bed and one (1) set of twin-sized bunk beds.  Accommodates four (4) guests with two (2) bathrooms. 
  • The Suite – Connecting to the Mardi Gras Room – Connecting to the Bunk Room – Two (2) queen-sized beds, one (1) daybed with trundle and one (1) set of twin-sized bunk beds.  Accommodates eight (8) guests with three (3) bathrooms.
  • The Suite – Connecting to the Mardi Gras Room – Connecting to the Bunk Room – Connecting to the Garden Room – Three (3) queen-sized beds, one (1) daybed with trundle and one (1) set of twin-sized bunk beds.  Accommodates ten (10) guests with four (4) bathrooms.
CANCELLATION POLICIES:  Cancellation Policies differ for Regular Stays and those during Special Events.  You will be advised while making your reservation which Cancellation Policy is in effect for your reservation period. 
CANCELLATION POLICY:  50% of the reservation amount is required at the time of reservation as a deposit for non-Special Events dates.  The remaining lodging fees will be due in full fourteen (14) days prior to your scheduled date of check-in.  Cancellations must be made up to fourteen (14) days prior to your scheduled date of check-in for stays non-Special Events stays to be eligible for a partial refund. Cancellations made less than fourteen (14) days prior to your scheduled date of check-in will result in the forfeiture of your total amount paid on each room reserved. 
Royal Barracks Guest House is not responsible for weather conditions, personal emergencies or schedule changes, nor is it responsible for any unforeseen occurrences including, but not limited to, severe weather activity, acts of war, widespread health emergencies (i.e., pandemics), etc.  Such events may result in rescheduling for the paid amount to be redeemed within one (1) year of the date of your scheduled date of check-in if available. If the new trip dates are more expensive than the previous dates, guests will need to pay the difference. 


NO-SHOW CHARGES:  Failure to check in on the scheduled arrival date for a reservation guaranteed with a credit card will result in your credit card being charged the full room rate for each night of your reserved period of stay, plus taxes and applicable fees. 


DO-NOT DISTURB AND ACCESS TO ROOMS:  We do not provide daily housekeeping but we are always willing to accommodate your needs.  Management reserves the right to enter a room for reasonable purposes, such as to fulfill guest requests, an emergency, housekeeping, maintenance, check the safety and well-being of our guests, verify that the room, its overall condition, furnishings, and mechanical equipment are intact, or to address or prevent a violation of our Guest House Policies and Rules.  In the event of suspected illegal activity, management reserves the right to summon law enforcement to aid in eviction.  The right to privacy ends when a Guest House Policy is broken.  Law enforcement will be granted immediate access to Guest House property and rooms of evicted guests. 


CHILDREN:  Well behaved children of all ages are welcomed.  As the parents, guardians or chaperones of children, you and you alone are personally and legally responsible for, and must supervise, them at all times.  For safety reasons, please do not leave children unattended in guest rooms or allow them to roam the Guest House property unsupervised. 


PETS:  We are a pet-free facility. 


MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY:  Room occupancy requirements are based on the Louisiana Fire Code and fire safety restrictions.  Our rooms accommodate two (2) guests each and The Suite accommodates four (4) guests maximum.  If you exceed the maximum number of guests allowed, you will be asked to rent another guest room for proper accommodations or vacate the Guest House. 


ROOM DOOR AND GATE ACCESS CODES:  Room door and gate access codes are issued to the registered guest(s) only.  No room or gate codes will be issued to anyone under the age of 18.  Guests are not authorized to share door or gate codes with anyone. 


HOUSEKEEPING/ROOM INSPECTION:  This is a 100 % NON-SMOKING guesthouse, including medical marijuana.  Rooms are cleaned and inspected prior to check-in and upon check-out.  A detailed log is maintained on each room’s furnishings and linen.  Rooms are rented to guests in appropriate condition without any prohibited odor.  Housekeeping and Front Desk staff are trained and skilled in identifying the odors from prohibited items.  If our investigation concludes that you have smoked in your room or brought a prohibited item into our facility, you will be fined and evicted without refund.  Depending on the infraction, law enforcement may be notified.  We follow all CDC and WHO guidelines in cleaning our facility and make every effort to ensure the health and well-being of our guests and staff.


LINEN CHANGING:  Your comfort is very important to us.  We do not change bed linen during your stay unless requested to do so and only if all personal items are previously removed therefrom.  Likewise, clean towels will be provided upon request.  Please contact our Front Desk staff if you have any additional questions or concerns.


LOST & FOUND POLICY:  Royal Barracks Guest House assumes no liability for lost, misplaced, stolen or damaged valuables or belongings.  If you discover that you have left something of value behind, please call us immediately (504) 529-7269 and we will try to assist you in locating your lost item.  Royal Barracks Guest House is not responsible for any item left behind by a guest.  However, any item, with the exception of perishable items, left behind by our guests and found after departure by Housekeeping will be collected and kept in a secure location for collection by the owner for up to fourteen (14) days.  Reasonable effort will be made to notify the guest that an item has been found.  If guest contact information is incorrect or cell phone mailbox is full and/or we are unable to contact the guest during the fourteen (14) day holding period, the unclaimed item(s) will be discarded or given to local organizations by Royal Barracks Guest House.  All perishable items, underwear and miscellaneous toiletries are discarded.  We will be happy to return your lost item(s) to you via the United States Postal Service.  Your credit card will be charged for packaging and postage, plus a Ten ($10.00) Dollar handling fee.  A separate receipt will be mailed to you.  Royal Barracks Guest House is not responsible for any item lost, damaged or misdirected during shipment by the United States Postal Service.  Please contact the USPS Customer Service Department directly at 1-800-275-8777.
MICROWAVE/REFRIGERATOR:  Except for the microwave and refrigerator units that the Guest House provides, preparation of food in guest rooms by any type of cooking appliances is prohibited.  Use of the courtyard microwave is provided to all registered guests, 24-hours a day.  We ask that you refrain from microwaving any pungent food as the odor is difficult to remove from fabric or a cleaning fee may be assessed.
ALCOHOL POLICY:  Registered guests of legal age who choose to bring their own alcoholic beverages may consume them in their room or in our courtyard.  Any consumption of alcohol by minors is against Royal Barracks Guest House policy and may result in immediate eviction without refund. 


FIREARMS AND WEAPONS:  The safety and security of our guests and staff is extremely important to us.  Our Firearms and Weapons Policy is designed for the protection of our guests, vendors, staff and owners and pertains to the presence of firearms and weapons on Guest House premises.  Royal Barracks Guest House recognizes that guests and vendors may legally possess firearms or weapons for a variety of legitimate purposes.  This policy has been developed to create a safe environment by providing appropriate guidance over the custody of firearms and weapons on our premises.  Royal Barracks Guest House is private property.  Guests, who are lawfully permitted to possess a firearm or weapon, may bring such onto our Guest House premises for storage purposes only, with the understanding that they are solely and personally responsible for following: 
  • Guests must abide by all Federal, State and local laws. 
  • Firearm and weapons must be appropriately registered. 
  • Firearms must be unloaded.
  • No cleaning of firearms is permitted on Guest House premises. 
  • Firearms and weapons must be safeguarded and secured at all times in either a locked, hard-sided firearm container or a gun case provided by the guest and clearly labeled with their name and contact information.
  • No firearms or weapons in any common areas. 

Guests and vendors who fail to abide by our Firearms and Weapons policy may be asked to leave the Guest House premises, are subject to trespass and may be subject to further legal action.  Exempted from this policy are law enforcement officers and designated military personnel who are on-duty and required to carry firearms in the performance of their duties.  No exemption to this policy is allowed for private persons, even those licensed and permitted to carry a firearm openly or concealed under local, state or federal law.  It is our policy to promptly turn over any firearms left on the property to the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office if we are unable to contact the owner.  Questions concerning these policies or implementation may be addressed to the Guest House owners directly (504) 529-7269. 

100% SMOKE-FREE:  Royal Barracks Guest House is 100% Smoke-Free.  For safety and to assure that our facility is not exposed to items or actions that create an odor which is unhealthy and objectionable to our guests and staff, and/or is difficult to remove from the air, carpet, walls and furniture, we do not permit smoking of any kind.  This includes, but is not limited to, tobacco, marijuana, illegal drugs, e-cigarettes, vape pens or vaping in any form, cartridges containing the liquid of nicotine, hookahs and cigars.  Additionally, we do not permit cooking or the use of incense, candle burning, diffusing oils or other strong-smelling plant-based essential oils or synthetic products in our facility.  Guests are encouraged to notify Front Desk staff immediately if they smell cigarette, marijuana or other objectionable odors.

This policy is not intended to stop people from smoking, but to regulate where they smoke and how it affects others.  Our lovely courtyard is our Designated Smoking Area.  Please be courteous and use the provided ashtrays and do not toss butts and other refuse on the ground, in the garden or on the furnishings.  Please note that the use of marijuana is illegal in Louisiana.  We do not permit illegal activity of any kind on our premises.  Our policy is to remind a guest of our Smoke-Free status.  Continued disregard of our policy may result in the guest being evicted without refund. 

BICYCLES, SKATEBOARDS, HOVER BOARDS AND ROLLER BLADES:  Bicycles, skateboards, hover boards and roller blades are not permitted in guest rooms and are not to be in use in any common areas.  Depending on available space, Front Desk staff will be happy to secure these items for you on our courtyard.  We assume no liability for theft, loss and/or damage and the guest waives any and all such liability. 


IN CASE OF EMERGENCY OR FIRE:  The Guest House is fully equipped with smoke detectors and heat sensors that are monitored 24-hours-a-day/7-days-a-week.  Additionally, each guest room has its own fire extinguisher.  Please call 9-1-1 and notify the Front Desk immediately in the event of a fire or other emergency.  A map that shows emergency exits can be found in the Guest Information notebook in each guest room. 


NO IN-ROOM PARTY:  Royal Barracks Guest House enforces a No In-Room Party Policy to ensure we can protect the Guest House and our guests at all times.  No parties, loud disturbances and/or noise-nuisances are allowed or tolerated on these premises.  In the event of a disturbance, one polite request (warning) will be given to reduce the noise.  If our request is granted timely, the guest will be asked to leave the Guest House without refund.  The registered guest(s) is responsible for all persons visiting.  Non-Registered visitors are only permitted until 10:00 P.M.  Anyone not listed on the Guest Registration Form after 10:00 P.M. will be considered a “party.”  You will be ordered to vacate the premises without refund.  Exceptions to this In-Room Party clause are possible only with PRIOR approval by Management and with an additional deposit being required and paid in advance. 


FREE Wi-Fi ACCESS:  Access to our Wi-Fi is free for our registered guests.  The Guest House Wi-Fi access code is subject to change without notice. Wi-Fi signals are subject to change without notice depending on the room’s location, the status of our Wi-Fi-equipment and interference from other local wireless signals.  Royal Barracks Guest House assumes no liability for guest use.  Guests are not authorized to share Wi-Fi access codes with anyone. 


ENFORCEMENT:  All staff is trained and required to respond to potential violations of our Guest House Policies and Rules.    These Polices and Rules exist for the safety of our guests, staff, owners, property and the operation and management of the Guest House.  Guests who refuse to abide by the reasonable standards and policies established by Royal Barracks Guest House will be evicted without refund.  In addition to the room charge, a minimum Three Hundred ($300.00) Dollars cleaning fee per room will be charged for infraction(s) of our Guest House Policies and Rules. 


TERMS & CONDITIONS:  Royal Barracks Guest House makes its best effort to ensure that all the information that appears on its website is accurate.  However, no warranty, expressed or implied, is given that the information provided on this website is error free.  Royal Barracks Guest House does not accept liability for any errors and/or omissions and reserves the right to change the information published at any time and without notice. 


MENUS, WEBSITE LINKS AND INFORMATION:  The menus, website links and any and all other information or recommendation provided by any owner or employee of Royal Barracks Guest House or in the Royal Barracks Guest House Guest Information notebook in each guest room are for the convenience of our visitors and are provided in good faith.  Royal Barracks Guest House does not accept liability for the services or products provided, or the content or links provided by, any third-party nor does it accept liability for any damage, injury or loss arising from any association with a third-party. 


ILLNESS AND EPIDEMICS:  Royal Barracks Guest House reserves the right to refuse accommodations to a guest arriving with a contagious disease.  In cases where sickness occurs during the stay, please notify the Front Desk staff immediately.  In the case of serious sickness, you may be requested to receive appropriate health care from a nearby professional health care facility or other emergency personnel.  During epidemics, we are entitled to employ precautionary measures within our judgment or as required by local authorities.  We may charge you a room cleaning fee as we deem appropriate under the circumstances. 


INFESTATION:  The cleanliness of our rooms is extremely important to our guests and our staff.  If you bring any infestation into your room or onto our Guest House premises, we may charge you for any and all costs and expenses, including immediate or urgent response requirements and loss of room revenue, that we deem necessary to address the infestation. 


PARK AT YOUR OWN RISK:  Royal Barracks Guest House has no on-site parking available.  Guests must use local pay-parking facilities and park at their own risk.  Royal Barracks Guest House does not assume liability or responsibility for any vehicle, occupants or contents thereof.  Parking on Barracks Street is limited by local parking restrictions to a maximum of two (2) hours per day without having a locally issued Residential Parking Permit.  Guests are solely responsibly for any and all parking violations incurred.
SECURITY CAMERAS ARE IN USE:  For the safety and security of our guests, staff and premises, the Royal Barracks Guest House has external security cameras in use 24-hours-a-day/7-days-a-week.  Should it be requested to do so for any reason by law enforcement agencies, video from these cameras will be shared.  You hereby authorize us to use any video obtained from our security cameras in any manner which we deem necessary, legal and proper.


DAMAGE AND/OR THEFT OF GUESTHOUSE PROPERTY:  You are liable for any damage howsoever affected (whether by the deliberate, negligent or reckless act) to the room(s), Guest House’s premises or property, caused by you or any person in your party whether or not staying at the Guest House during your stay.  Royal Barracks Guest House reserves the right to retain your credit card and/or debit card details as presented at registration and charge or debit the credit/debit card such amounts as it shall in its sole discretion deem necessary to compensate or make good the cost or expenses incurred or suffered by Royal Barracks Guest House as a result of the aforesaid.  Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right, and you hereby authorize us, to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or theGuest House property during your stay including, and without limitation, for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc.  We will make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialist to make the repairs, and thereby make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum. 


DAMAGE DISCOVERED AFTER CHECK-OUT:  Guest rooms found with waste strewn around, in complete disorder and/or “trashed” will be subject to maintenance deep cleaning fee, an administration fee and/or third-party fees. 


DAMAGE TO ROOM:  Damage to rooms, fixtures, furnishing and equipment including the removal of electronic equipment, towels, artwork, décor, etc., will be charge at One Hundred Twenty (120%) Percent of full and new replacement value, plus any shipping and handling charges.  Any damage to Guest House property, whether accidental or willful, is the responsibility of the registered guest for each particular room.  Any costs associated with repairs and/or replacement will be charged to the credit card of the registered guest. In extreme cases, criminal charges will be pursued. 


DAMAGE TO MATTRESSES AND BEDDING:  Damage to mattresses and linen, including but not limited to mattresses, mattress pads, pillows, sheets, blankets, bedspreads and towels, resulting from negligence or misuse or any kind, including but not limited to the use of body oils, make-up, food, drink, shoe-polish, etc., will result in a charge for the special cleaning, repair or replacement of the damaged article. 


DAMAGE OR TAMPERING WITH SECURITY AND FIRE SYSTEMS, INCLUDING CAMERAS:  Royal Barracks Guest House reserves the right to take action against any guest or visitor found to have tampered or interfered with any security and/or fire detection equipment, including fire extinguishers, throughout the Guest House.  Guests or visitors found to have tampered with any security and/or fire detection equipment, including fire extinguishers, will be charged with any costs incurred by the Guest House due to their actions and will be evicted from the Guest House without refund.  Depending on the severity of the guest actions, law enforcement may become involved at the Guest House’s discretion.  Should the fact that security and/or fire detection equipment, including fire extinguishers, had been tampered with come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right, and you hereby authorize us, to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Guest House property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc. 


CHANGES OR MODIFICATION TO THE GUESTHOUSE POLICY/HOUSE RULES:  Royal Barracks Guest House reserves the right to amend, modify, change, cancel, vary or add to these Guest House Policies and Rules or the arrangements and content featured on our Guest House website at any time without prior notice.  Please check our website regularly for updates to Guest House Policies and Rules.  Any modification to these Guest House Policies and Rules that occurs before your departure is considered a part of your reservation agreement with us.  A copy of these Guest House Policies and Rules is in the Guest Room notebook and is available from Front Desk staff upon request.
